PARTNERSHIPS WITH PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS
At Undercliffe Public School we recognise that comprehensive and meaningful partnerships contribute to learning success and can meet the needs of the families, schools, and communities involved with the school. Research shows us that students do better in school and in life, parents become empowered, teacher morale improves, schools get better and communities grow stronger.
There are both informal and formal partnerships at school.
The teachers have rooms that are always welcoming of any support that the parents and carers are able to provide. Some examples might be:
- volunteering as reading tutors;
- assisting the teacher in maintaining the equipment;
- accompanying the children on excursions; and
- helping coach the children for sports competitions.
READING FOR SUCCESS
This program supports students who will achieve reading success if they have 15 minutes of individual reading assistance daily.
